PGL & Ofsted

Ofsted carried out a number of inspections at six PGL activity centres on 26th & 27th October, and which resulted in four sites being suspended by Ofsted for not meeting childcare registration standards.  Two other centres were judged to meet the childcare registration standards. The British Activity Providers Association accompanied by a representative of the Adventurous Activities Industry Advisory Committee met to review the concerns raised by Ofsted. Having reviewed these concerns, the review group do not find Ofsted’s concerns relevant to the criteria and requirements of the Adventuremark or Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge schemes and therefore no further action is required.
